Independence
We work for our clients, not for transaction volume. Every recommendation is shaped solely by the client’s position.
Shipbrokering & Maritime Consulting
NVS is an independent shipbroking and maritime consulting firm providing high-level transactional and strategic support to shipowners, investors, and maritime stakeholders.
We are known for our market expertise, disciplined execution, and ability to handle complex and sensitive mandates across market cycles. Our work is grounded in deep industry knowledge, precise market judgement, and a clear understanding of client objectives.
A boutique firm built around senior judgement and direct involvement.
NVS was established to fill a clear gap in the market: clients who require independent, sophisticated maritime guidance — without the volume-driven dynamics of larger houses.
What sets us apart:
Our scale is intentional. By staying selective, we maintain the focus and accountability that complex mandates demand.
We work for our clients, not for transaction volume. Every recommendation is shaped solely by the client’s position.
Confidentiality is treated as foundational. We operate quietly where visibility could compromise outcomes.
Disciplined process, careful market judgement, and a structured approach to negotiation and execution.
Our involvement is structured around client objectives — short-term outcomes never compromise the long-term position.

KYC, Sanctions & Legal
Xenia Duran leads the firm’s KYC, sanctions, and legal function. She is responsible for the firm’s compliance framework, counterparty due diligence, and regulatory advisory across the firm’s transactional and consulting mandates.
She brings extensive experience advising shipowners, charterers, and investors on international sanctions regimes — including OFAC, EU, and UK frameworks — as they apply to shipping and trade finance. Her work also covers anti-money laundering, beneficial ownership analysis, and the contractual structures underpinning sale and purchase, chartering, and newbuilding transactions.
Xenia holds a law degree and an MBA, combining legal training with commercial judgement. She works closely with the transactional team to support the firm’s clients through complex, cross-border situations where compliance failures carry significant commercial and reputational risk.
